Fondant: A Living Nightmare

Maybe it's exaggerating, maybe it was because it was our first time with fondant, but now we know WHY they make pre-tinted. It's impossible to get a dark red without taking hours to do so. Stick to light colors or buy the already colored stuff!

We're open... well, sort of.

I didn't think it would ever happen this fast. Double K Kupkakes is open! Actually, it's basically a lemonade stand but cupcakes along with lemonade. We definitely kept ourselves busy in the kitchen last night. Both of us were really tired afterward. But I guess it was worth it! We're going to bake one more batch today, then tell ourselves to not eat them, they're for sale, mix up some lemonade, and make a stand and be able to sell cupcakes for a while before the forecast rain comes at supposedly 2:00 PM. Yeesh.
